SMART Center is a nonprofit organization, established in 2007 and registered under notification number 395/09 . It was founded by a group of civil society activists representing the diversity of Lebanese communities, who are enthusiastic to influence others and provide individuals and groups with suitable tools to become better citizens and active in the fields of Media, Human Rights, Development, Peace Building, Conflict Resolution, Social Economy, Democracy and Citizenship.

"End impunity Now" Campaign
SMART Center Provided comprehensive coverage of "End impunity Now" Campaign: Coverage of the activites, exclusive interviews, photography, press releases, and investigations.
SMART Center conducted a media book reflecting the real effort made by the organization in its campaign and all press coverage to it in Lebanese webs and newspapers. Titled:
Traveling exhibition: The way to the International Criminal Tribunal of Nuremberg to The Hague", May 2008
The Campaign was organized by "Justice Without Frontiers" for eight days in several places: the Bar Association, Municipality of Sin el-Fil, University of Kaslik)
The Campaign &Press book were funded by: Friedrich Ebert Stiftung - Lebanon
“The simplification of the law of parliamentary elections”
SMART Center provided official data base for information published in a booklet titled: “The simplification of the law of parliamentary elections” in Lebanon.
SMART Center designed the booklet.
SMART Center organized and provided comprehensive coverage of a Panel Discussion: "The clearest road map to reach the best results of the elections in Lebanon": Public relations and media invitations, exclusive interviews, photography, press releases.
Jurists and Lawyers participated in the panel discussion about the laws of Parliamentary Elections in Lebanon and the procedure of elections to encourage accountability and the voters to participate in the elections.
IMPACT Project (Young Journalists)
SMART Center is providing weekly training sessions (25 sessions for each group) on basics of journalism for students’ grades 6, 7, 8 and 9 since 2008.
Students by the end of each year conduct articles, investigations, feature stories, soft a...nd hard news.
Students learn freedom of expression, so they understand how to raise important topics such as: human rights, children rights, citizenship, sports, technology. In addition to social and scholar topics they write reviews about movies, books and series.
The students’ and teacher’s productions are published in a newspaper called: Impact, on June of every year.
SMART Center provides the graphic design of the newspaper.
What Relationship?
Between Civil Society Organizations &Media in Lebanon
SMART Center conducted, designed and published a field study about the relationship between civil society organizations and Media in Lebanon, in 2010.
The study was funded by: Friedrich Ebert Stiftung- Lebanon

The research was supervised by director of researches in SMART Center Dr. Maamoun Tarabey.
The field researchers were: Juliana Kabalan, Dolly Hanna, Amer Khdeij, Ali Atwi, Fatimah Dokmak, Cosette Kamil, Layal Al-Halabi, Maya Ammar, Hala Abou Moussa.
Questions about the International Criminal Court
SMART Center edited and designed a booklet about the international criminal court (ICC) titled: Questions about the International Criminal Court, funded by “Justice without Frontiers” and the International Coalition of ICC.
